1. Horizon Yachts #HorizonYachts is pleased to announce the Horizon FD85 #HorizonFD85 fast displacement #fastdisplacement motor yacht has been added as a new model to the company’s luxury yacht line-up. Developed by renowned yacht designer Cor D. Rover and Horizon’s in-house naval architecture team, the Horizon FD85 features a vertical bow design #vertical bow design, which has been tested with Computational Fluid Dynamics; the bow design not only offers the desired fast displacement performance criteria but also increased hull volume for 25% more spacious living spaces, including a five guest stateroom layout. Built with twin CAT C18 1136HP engines, the new Horizon FD85 performs high efficiency from a slow cruise of 10 knots to a faster cruise of 16 knots, ensuring a more comfortable and versatile use of operating speeds.

2. The new Horizon FD85 fast displacement motor yacht encompasses all that is required for today's innovative buyer: modern styling, flexible performance, and complete functionality.

3. We have spent countless hours brainstorming, discussing, developing, and perfecting the details for the new Horizon FD85. The first of her kind in Horizon's luxury yacht collection, the FD85 encompasses the ultimate in versatile displacement motor yacht design.

4. “We specifically chose to focus on a hull form for the FD85 that affords flexible cruise speeds without compromising performance,” said Horizon Yachts CEO John Lu. “We also wanted this new model to incorporate modern exterior styling, tremendous interior volume, and innovative features. Cor and his team were the perfect fit for collaborating with Horizon’s in-house teams, and together we have developed an advanced fast displacement yacht that blends cutting-edge design with truly usable living and entertaining spaces comparable to most 100-foot plus yachts.”

5. With a 7,07 m (23’3” beam), the new Horizon FD85 provides five en suite guest staterooms a full-beam King master stateroom on deck and two mirrored VIP queen staterooms as well as two twin guest staterooms below deck with crew quarters found just forward of the engine room. The main salon and formal dining room incorporate sections of floor-to-ceiling glass windows, a design feature that is carried into the Master stateroom as well and dramatically increases natural light in these areas. In the FD85’s pilothouse, a large windshield also adds natural light and maximizes visibility; however Low-E glass is utilized to reduce the amount of heat entering the yacht, and the windshield’s forward-angle design minimizes reflections on the navigational instruments.

6. Horizon focused on both function and entertaining when designing the FD85’s outdoor spaces. An abundance of aft deck space incorporates built-in and loose seating as well as accessibility to the raised foredeck from the starboard side deck; the twin staircases from the aft deck to the flybridge provide a stylish design feature that is also practical. Crew quarters are reachable from a staircase on the port aft deck and from the swim platform. On the flybridge, the FD85 offers an outdoor helm, full bar, two adjacent L-shaped dinettes, space for sunbathing, and a hot tub ideal for enjoying the outdoors; an interior helm is connected to the flybridge for easy transition between helms.

7. The Horizon FD85 fast displacement motor yacht blends contemporary interior and exterior styling and functional design with flexible performance capabilities, ensuring this new yacht will successfully compete in today’s multi-faceted yacht market.

¨ Highly efficient & versatile cruising capabilities
¨ Innovative design
¨ The 85' with 100' attitude
¨ Extensive interior & interior volume.
¨ Modern styling
¨ Flexible performance

8. Keeping all of this in mind, Horizon specifically chose to focus on contemporary style lines, ample volume, and a hull form that provides flexible cruising speeds without compromising performance.. .in short, we presented ourselves with quite a challenge. We brought this challenge to the design studio of Cor D, Rover, a world-renowned designer and creator of some of the most stylish yachts on the water today. Cor's team collaborated with our in-house naval architects to develop the new Horizon FD85 - a truly advanced fast displacement motor yacht that incorporates modern flair with usable living and entertaining spaces that are comparable to most 100+ foot yachts.

9. Extensive Volume Inside & Out: The Horizon FD85's exterior and interior layouts were designed to take full advantage of her 25% increase in volume over yachts with similar LOA's, providing separate areas for entertaining, relaxing, and enjoying the surroundings. Her main salon incorporates large areas of floor-to-ceiling glass windows, which create a feeling of being at one with nature. The pilothouse Low-E glass windshield reduces the amount of heat entering the yacht and the angle also minimises reflections on the navigational instruments and offers tremendous natural lighting. Natural light is a major theme of the FD85, one that carries into the on-deck master stateroom with her large glass windows. A functional full-beam, on-deck master stateroom is remarkably rare in an 85-foot motor yacht and affords the owner complete privacy. Four additional guest staterooms are found below deck, along with separate crew quarters just forward of the engines.

10. Functional Design: Creative use of space is another major theme of the Horizon FD85 - her overall design is highly functional and user-friendly, ensuring she is a yacht that is flexible to suit a variety of lifestyles. Stack-mounted staircases and large, cut-away bulwark maximise the panoramic views from inside and connect the indoor and outdoor areas. The twin staircases to the flybridge from the aft deck simplify access to and from the Fly Bridge as well as creating a very attractive design feature. The foredeck can be accessed from the sun deck on the port side as well as the aft deck via the starboard side deck; this provides a practical flow around the yacht in addition to easy access to the bow sun pad. Crew quarters are easily accessible through two areas on the yacht: via an entrance door and staircase on the port side of the aft deck and through the swim platform. Function also lies within the FD85's inner details -- the engine room's aft location, plus an advanced insulation package, provides a quieter, more guest-friendly environment when cruising.

11. Outdoor Entertaining Areas: Owners and guests are presented with numerous outdoor entertaining areas on the new Horizon FD85. An abundance of aft deck space, great visibility, and a centrally-located table invite you to relax and take in the scenery; couple that with an enormous open flybridge -- complete with a hot tub, ample space to sunbathe, double-layer bar and L-shape seats under the custom hard top - now you have an incredible platform for creating memories with family and friends.
